Coffee Subscriptions

Our subscriptions at Prototype work like a chef's menu. We choose coffees to feature each month that we think deserve to be showcased and prepare them for you the best way we can. Each month, we hand select a set of coffees that we're excited to share with you and send them out in the first week of each month. 

If you sign up for a subscription, you will receive your 250g bag(s) of coffee delivered to you at the beginning of each month (billed monthly with shipping included in the price). Or if you prefer, you can pre-order 3 months or 6 months of coffee and receive coffee every month without having to think about payments at all.

We offer two different subscription series: the Case Study Series and the Classic Series. You can customize your subscription to include how many of each series you want to include each month.

Case Study Series

Our Case Study series features a rotating selection of our coffees each month to highlight coffees with flavour profiles that we think are particularly fresh, spectacular or offer something unique, and each month we pair it with a different coffee that contrasts or compliments its flavour profile. Really they're just the coffees we're most excited to share. This series will give you the chance to explore the wide variety of flavours the world of specialty coffee has to offer. Some coffees might be smooth and approachable and others might be surprising and exotic, but they'll all be delicious and super drinkable.

You can subscribe to receive one bag or two of just the rotating Case Study, or you can get the Case Study along with a Pairing, which is a second rotating coffee that complements or contrasts the Case Study.

Classic Series

Our Classic Series showcases a more predictable range of flavour profiles where you can expect to find tasting notes like chocolate, caramel, and toasted nuts.

We find that even within a more “classic” flavour profile, there’s a whole world of variety in terms of both flavour and origin. So each month, we’ll select a different coffee that delivers these classic flavours. The origin might be different each time, but the cup profile you can expect will always be in the the same flavour world.
